    Leila Fife Allen

    Leila Fife Allen, 84, was called home to be with her Savior on Sept. 9, 2020, in Perry.

    Leila was born April 29, 1936, in Perry to James Carl Fife and Leila Thelma Beaty Fife.

    Ms. Leila was of the Baptist faith and played piano for each church that she was a member of, which she considered a gift from God.

    Her work history included working for Gulf Telephone, and then for the state with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). She then began working with Buckeye Cellulose as an assistant to several managers throughout her tenure. Afterward, she went to school and became a local real estate agent, and then lastly Leila worked as a pre-need sales agent/insurance agent with Joe P. Burns Funeral Home for 10 years.

    Leila was preceded in death by: her husband, Maurice Allen; her parents, Carl and Thelma Fife; and her siblings, Horace, Essie, Juanita, Mary and Joe.

    Ms. Leila is survived by: her children, Steve Brannen (Nadine), Bryon J. Freeman (Debra), Geri Smith (Shane), Judy Williams (Carlton) and Jerry Allen; and her brother, Bill Fife; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Tommy Murrow officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterward in Pineview Memorial Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends today (Friday) from 6-8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.

    For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice or St. Johns Christian Fellowship of Perry.

    All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
