School board votes on $44 million budget Sept. 15

    Posted on September 11, 2020

The Taylor County School Board will hold a final public hearing Tuesday, Sept. 15, on a proposed $44 million budget for the 2020-21 school year, including a marginal decrease of .245 mills in “required local effort,” which should translate into a 3.8% decrease in school board taxes on most property owners’ tax bills.

The overall budget – including expenditures and revenues – is $44,083,826, which is up approximately $1.5 million (3.5%) from the prior year ($42,596,201) due to increases in some revenue sources and fund balances.
