TCI food director faces sex charge

The former food service director at Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI) was booked into the Taylor County Jail Monday on a charge of sexual misconduct with an inmate stemming from an encounter first reported in late March 2020.

Mary Joellen Weirick, 65, of Perry, posted a $5,000 bond and was released two and one-half hours after being processed.
