    School budget $500,000 short

    Posted on September 18, 2020

While the Taylor County School District has a somewhat comfortable beginning fund balance of $2.7 million for the new fiscal year, it is poised to use $500,000 of that savings to offset a projected deficit when it comes to budgeted expenditures versus expected revenues.

“If nothing changes with our expenditures, we are going to use half a million dollars of our fund balance because our expenditures are half a million dollars more than our revenue.
