The second annual Noah’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Perry Elks Lodge.
The event is hosted by the family of five-year-old Noah Amador, who was first diagnosed in 2017 with a skull-based chordoma at 20 months of age. Since then, Noah has received 51 rounds of radiation and immunotherapy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and countless blood transfusions as he continues to battle recurrent and metastatic chordoma.
The Childhood Cancer Awareness Day also honors Zack Knowles, who was diagnosed with leukemia when he was six years old, and Marvin Overstreet, who was diagnosed with leukemia when he was four years old.
The event will feature live music from Daybreak, Monroe Morgan and Brent Saunders, along with concessions, a poster contest, pop tab contest and much more.
Supporters are also invited to collect pledges for a walk/run that will be held that day.
All proceeds will benefit the Drew Barker Wright Charity to help support research for pediatric chordoma.
