Betty Jean Bryan died in Perry on Sept. 22, 2020, at the age of 88.
She was born on July 30, 1932, to Walter and Evelyn Revels and was a lifelong resident of Perry.
She graduated from Taylor County High School in 1950 and worked at Van H. Priest in Perry for a few years after graduation before raising her family. Betty loved to travel, shop and eat out with her daughter, Karen. The two attended many University of Florida football games in Gainesville and on the road as she was a long-time season ticket holder of the Gators.
She liked to drive her Cadillac around town up until a few months before her death. She made sure to make her weekly hair appointment with her long-time hairdresser and close friend, Diane Ward.
Betty was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John L. Bryan, and her son, John L. Bryan Jr., who predeceased her at the young age of 18 in 1973.
She is survived by: her daughter, Karen Bryan; her sister, Jewel Lyons (Cecil); three nephews, Michael, Timothy and Christopher Lyons; two cousins, Caroline Horton and Pat Wynn; and several great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 26, which will be followed by the funeral service at noon. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required and social distancing is recommended.
