Doyle Franklin Gray Sr.

Doyle Franklin Gray Sr., 72, peacefully passed away to his heavenly fishing and hunting grounds on Sept. 19, 2020, at his home in Perry with his wife by his side.

He was born Feb. 16, 1948, in Perry to Robert Lee Gray Sr. and Bessie Joe Carlton Gray.

Mr. Gray was of the Christian faith and was a member of Evangel Christian Fellowship.

Doyle worked way too much and way too hard as a cnstruction supervisor with Fluor Daniel, Watkins, Fru-Con and Yates for his entire adult life, finally retiring in 2015 following a brief illness, after much encouragement from his family.

Doyle loved to fish and hunt, as well as riding in the woods. He enjoyed traveling and working all over this country. His greatest love was being able to spend time with and making memories with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandsons.

Doyle was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert “Lee” and Bessie Gray Sr.; his sisters, Myrna Gray Freeman and Diane Gray McGuire; a brother-in-law, Dean Mixon; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Gray.

Doyle is survived by: his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Gray; his boys, Doyle “Lin” (Amy) Gray Jr. and Patrick (April) Gray; grandchildren, Dillon, Tyler, Cheyenne, Caitlin (Justin), Amanda, Canyon, Spencer, Addie, Kayden and Brantlee; great-grandson, Gunner; siblings, Mickie Mixon, Bobby (Ann) Gray, Karen Silvea, Cotton (Raynell) Gray; and brothers-in-law, Jerome Freeman and Terry McGuire; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother Jeremy Gray and Brother Justin Webb officiating. The family will greeted friends at 2:15 p.m. in Carlton Cemetery on Tuesday. The family also received friends Monday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
