Resembling prehistoric Brachiosaurus dinosaurs, they stretch their long necks out over the inlet from atop floating barges, submerge their heads in the water and then rise up, their mouths full of muck, spitting the wet mud into massive dumpsters.
These “long sticks” are dredging the waterway next to Roy’s Restaurant in Steinhatchee in preparation for the new Steinhatchee Marina at Deadman Bay.
