County seeks EMS providers

After discussing the future of ambulance service in Taylor County for much of the past year, the Taylor County Commission is now officially seeking a third-party company to take over emergency medical services (EMS) from Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH).

Declaring their dissatisfaction with the level of service being provided by the hospital, the commission agreed in July to move to seek a third-party option, and earlier this month, the board voted unanimously to officially begin advertising.
