Regal closes again… what now?

It’s been three weeks since my last update on the state of movie theaters, and sadly, things have only gotten worse. Back then, I ended by saying I was worried about what was going to happen next with so many dominoes appearing ready to fall in regards to more and more film releases being pushed back to 2021.

Well, unfortunately many of those dominoes have indeed fallen, leading us to this week, when Cineworld, parent company of Regal Cinemas in the United States, announced that it was closing all of its locations in the U.S. and the U.K. indefinitely. By the time you read this, the Tallahassee Regal location will have already closed. When it will reopen is anybody’s guess at this point.
