Democrats honor Hall, Hughes

Two local citizens received special awards when the Capital City Democratic Women’s Club held it Ninth Annual Golden Recognition Luncheon at the Leon County Civic Center on Aug. 2.

Sarah M. Sledge Hall and Lawrence Hughes Jr. were among the 24 honorees “who exemplify the fine qualities of members of the Democratic party in the communities in which they live,” said outgoing President Veronique Tolliver Hill.
