Report: ‘Systemic racial issues’ in school hiring

A committee charged with reviewing a formal complaint alleging hiring discrimination by the Taylor County School District found “no evidence to support” a woman’s claim that she was racially discriminated against, however the committee did find “there are systemic racial issues within both process and practice within the district that can create an unequal environment for minority employees and applications.

Those findings were detailed in a report leaked to members of the media this week, apparently before it was submitted to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Glover Jr. for review.
