    Posted on November 4, 2020

Due to school being out in honor of Veterans Day, the Taylor County High School’s annual JROTC Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

“We will open our doors at 9:45 a.m. for complimentary coffee and refreshments prior to the ceremony. Our ceremony will take place from 10-10:30 a.m. We invite all veterans to join us,” said JROTC Senior Instructor Scott Vervisch.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, a flag-changing ceremony at Veterans Memorial will begin at 11 a.m. followed by the annual Veterans Day Luncheon hosted by the Taylor County Board of Commissioners.

The outdoor luncheon will be held at Heritage Pavilion at Forest Capital Park starting at noon.

A free BBQ lunch will be served following the program.

Attendees are asked to wear masks when social distancing is not possible, and servers will deliver food and drink to the tables.

Perry Elks Lodge #1851 will honor veterans with a special luncheon planned Sunday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m.

A complimentary lunch will be served to all veterans (plus one guest). Tickets are $10 per person for each additional guest. Children ages six and under are free.

To reserve tickets, please contact Wendy Cruce at (850) 838-5190.
