Dianne J. Meredith, 62, passed away on Nov. 2, 2020, in Gainesville.
She was born Feb. 17, 1958, in Lapeer, Mich., to Robert James Meoak and Alta Walker Meoak.
Dianne honorably served her country in the United States Air Force.
She was a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. She attended several universities throughout her life, and received her master’s degree from the University of Indiana in nursing.
Dianne was a nurse anesthetist with Baptist Hospital of Miami, for Eglin Air Force Base and lastly here at Doctors’ Memorial Hospital in Perry.
In her spare time she enjoyed being on the water, either sailing or fishing, and she also had a deep passion for reading.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Robert James Meoak; mother, Alta Walker Babbit; step-father, David Babbit; and brother, Lori Babbit.
She is survived by: her husband of 17 years, Lonnie Houck; step-children, Lonnie and Lance Houck; siblings, Randy Meoak, Richard Meoak, Rod Meoak, Sue Bitner, Robert Meoak, Brian Babbit, Jeannie Babbity and Debbie McGinnis; and one grandson, Luke Houck; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother David Beigle and Brothe Jim Bitner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Blue Creek Baptist Church.
