After praising her work ethic and performance over the past two years, the Taylor County Commission voted 4-0 last week to approve a new three-year employment contract for County Administrator LaWanda Pemberton that includes a salary increase to $100,000 per year.
Pemberton was hired by the commission in November 2018, one day after the board voted to fire former administrator Ted Lakey. One month later, the commission approved a two-year employment contract with Pemberton that included a starting salary of $85,000.
