    Gas deal should net taxpayers $110,000

    The City of Perry is poised to receive an estimated $110,000 or more in annual revenue under a new program that allows governmental agencies to pass along significant pricing discounts to large industrial natural gas customers like Georgia-Pacific’s Foley Mill.

    At their Oct. 27 meeting, city council members voted unanimously in favor of a proposal presented by Florida Gas Utility (FGU), which involves splitting a significant natural gas pricing discount between the industrial customer, FGU members and the host city (City of Perry).
