County commission to seek state funding for local sidewalk projects

The Taylor County Commission will hold a special meeting next week to choose which sidewalk projects to submit to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for potential funding.

Even if one or more of the projects is selected by FDOT for its Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), it will be six years before work would likely begin. FDOT is currently soliciting project proposals for the 2027 funding cycle.
