Charles Alexander Smith, 88 passed away Nov. 23, 2020, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee.
He was born March 21, 1932, in McIntyre, Fla.
He was the son of the late William Henry Smith and Ada Meniza Roberts Smith.
After graduating high school in 1950, he joined the United States Air Force. After spending four years in the Air Force, he moved to Tallahassee, where he married the love of his life, Delia Janette Arnold Smith, who preceded him in death.
He loved to fish, garden, make hot pepper sauce and spend time with his two grandchildren.
He is survived by: his two children, Sharon Smith Ferrell (Ray) of Tallahassee and Charles Eric Smith (Jenny) of Sopchoppy (Yolanda) of Woodville; and grandchildren, Charles Michael Smith and Alexandra Jade Ferrell.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: his half-brothers, Green Claridy Roberts (Big Bud), William Henry Smith (Little Bud) and Mary Elizabeth Smith Trice Merrill.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Old Drivers Cemetery which is now Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery.
