Many newly-elected or re-elected officials sworn into public office this past month will see a salary increase when they receive their next paycheck.
With the exception of the Perry City Council, the salaries of local elected officials are set forth in state statutes and adjusted each year using a formula that takes into account changes to county populations, as well as other factors, including increases in state career service employees’ salaries.
