A broken water line at the corner of Jefferson Street and Hampton Springs Avenue slowed traffic Wednesday around 5 p.m. as city crews and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) worked to find and repair the leak.
According to City of Perry Public Works Director Chester McAfee, an old one-inch service line to a house that previously sat on the corner lot in front of Fast Freddie’s burst, likely due to age. McAfee stated FDOT is bringing in an engineer to inspect the area because the service line runs under a state road (Hwy. 27 East).
