Yates Creek boat ramp is now closed

Anglers planning to fish the Taylor County flats and oyster bars located just offshore of Yates Creek were greeted by “No Trespassing” signs and a temporary fence across the road this week after the county’s lease of the private property ended on Nov. 30.

The county commission originally entered into a lease agreement with Clark Properties of Taylor County LLC in June of 2010, which allowed for public use of the Yates Creek boat launch and access point over the past 10 years.
