Josephine Swearingen Adams

Josephine Swearingen Adams, 87, gained her heavenly wings on December 6, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee.

Jo was born April 29, 1933, in Adel, Ga., to Charlie B. Dunn and Bertha F. Stone Dunn.

Mrs. Adams was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Fellowship. Jo worked at Western Auto for many years and as a secretary for the State of Florida for several years.

She enjoyed cooking for others, reading, and arts and crafts.

Jo was preceded in death by: her husband of 43 years, Nolan Swearingen; her son, Charles Swearingen; her parents, Charlie and Bertha Dunn; and her sister, Mary Dunn Browning.

Mrs. Adams is survived by: her husband of 17 years, Collis Adams; her children, Susan Lundberg (Brian), Billy Swearingen (Julie) and Joey Swearingen; three grandchildren, Kristen, Aaron and J.D.; and her sister, Annie Sirmans; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Pisgah Cemetery with Brother Wade Goodman officiating.
