The Taylor County Commission has agreed to exempt events sponsored by local chambers of commerce and other non-profit organizations from the county ordinance regulating large-scale concerts.
The commission unanimously approved the concert ordinance this past summer, but at the board’s Oct. 20 meeting, Pam Wessels, president of the Steinhatchee River Chamber of Commerce, addressed the commission, expressing concerns over how the ordinance could effect the annual Fiddler Crab Festival in Steinhatchee held each February.
