    43,000 receive vaccine

    More than 43,000 people in Florida have received the first of two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

    According to the Florida Department of Health’s most recent report on Tuesday, Dade County had the most people receive the vaccine with more than 10,200.

    One person from Taylor County has received the vaccine to date. Among Taylor’s neighbors, five people in Dixie, one in Madison and one in Lafayette had received the vaccine. No one in Jefferson County was reported to have received the vaccine.

    The Pfizer vaccine requires two doses spaced three weeks apart for full effectiveness.
