Apalachicola Bay oyster harvest prohibited for the next five years

At its December meeting, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) agreed to suspend all wild oyster harvest in Apalachicola Bay through Dec. 31, 2025.

FWC officials say the changes will help restoration and recovery of oysters in the Apalachicola Bay system.
