Florida’s minimum wage will increase by nine cents on Friday, Jan. 1, jumping from $8.56 to $8.65 per hour, according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, which announced the increase following its annual adjustment.
The nine-cent jump for 2021 was smaller than the previous three years, which saw a 10-cent increase at the start of 2020, a 21-cent increase in 2019 and a 15-cent jump in 2018. In 2017, the increase was five cents.
