Lakey, county will head to mediation

A mediation hearing has been set for April 2 in an attempt to resolve a lawsuit filed by former County Administrator Ted Lakey against the Taylor County Commission over his 2018 firing.

Citing job performance issues and a lack of community involvement, the county commission voted 4-0 to terminate Lakey’s contract at a Nov. 14, 2018 special meeting, less than two years after he was hired on Jan. 30, 2017.
