Former Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputy Michael O’Connor, 32, agreed to voluntarily surrender his criminal justice standard – meaning he can no longer serve in law enforcement – under a plea deal reached with the State Attorney’s Office on Monday.
In return for O’Connor’s guilty plea to one misdemeanor count of battery, prosecutors agreed to drop a felony charge of falsifying a public record and a second misdemeanor battery charge.
