    2 dead in home blaze

    The families of Tyson Cruce and Greyson Simmons expressed their thanks for the outpouring of support they have received in the wake of the house fire that claimed the lives of the two children. The fire — although concentrated in the back of the home — destroyed the entire interior of the multi-family residence (above) on Bernard Johnson Road early Friday morning. The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the blaze. Contributions to assist the family with funeral expenses can be made directly to Burns Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

    The Florida Bureau of Fire, Arson and Explosives is investigating the cause of an early-morning blaze that the claimed the lives of a 17-year-old autistic blind teen and a four-year-old boy on Friday, Jan. 8.

    Taylor County Fire-Rescue (TCFR) was dispatched to a residence on Bernard Johnson Road at 6:40 a.m. Friday morning.
