Mr. Kenneth Elmo Kasell, 93, passed away on Jan. 1, 2021.
He was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Savannah, Ga., to Marion W. Kasell and Mae Clarey Kasell.
Kenneth honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 1st Calvary Division under Gen. MacArthur. After his discharge from the military, he worked for the CSX Railroad until retirement. He was attended Athena Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Marion W. and Mae Kasell; five sisters, Virginia Nelson, Dorothy Hunt, Frances Brumley, Betty Shaw and Bessie Simons; three brothers, Marion Kasell Jr., Eugene Kasell and Richard Kasell; and a special friend, Hazel “Bea”Bembry.
He is survived by: his wife of 12 years, Effie Noseworthy Kasell; his sister, Shirley Sheffield of Jacksonville; and three people dear to his heart, Carol Bembry, Jan Jones and Dona Gail Bembry-Brady; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Brother
