Nelda Ruth Alvey

Mrs. Nelda Ruth Alvey passed away on Jan. 6, 2021, in Perry.

She was born July 15, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, to Garthy Alvin Ragland and Lille Nell Meyers Ragland.

Nelda was preceded in death by: the love of her life, her husband, Jerry Anthony Alvey; son, Jerry Anthony Alvey Jr.; her parents, Garthy Alvin Ragland and Lillie Nell Meyers Ragland; and three sisters, Roseanne Wright, Evelyn Jeanine Hale and Patsy Darlene Brummette.

Nelda is survived by: one brother, Garthy Lavoy Ragland (Debby) of Mesquite, Texas; two sisters, Reba Jeanette Palmer of Wills Point, Texas, and Brenda Kay Serna (Paul) of Quinlan, Texas; her children, Nita Joyce Faircloth (Marvin) of Perry, Debra Lynn Dyer (Donald) of Madill, Okla., Sherli Ann Manzo (Fernando) of Tempe,  Ariz., Sandra Gayle Davis of Gun Barrel, Texas, Michael Lyn Alvey of Shreveport, La., Phillip Ray Alvey (Janice) of Zwolle, La., Tami Ren’ee Alvey Fletcher of Perry, Marilyn Sue Bass (Raymond) of Many, La., and Stephanie Darlene Alvey of Zwolle, La.; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Nelda worked in the commercial/event sales business alongside her husband. She loved working and traveling with him. She was of Christian faith and loved the Lord. Nelda loved spending time with her family and extended family. She was dearly loved by her family and those who come to know her through the years. Nelda will be missed tremendously by all.
