    Ronald Ray “Ronnie” Parker

    Ronald Ray “Ronnie” Parker, 81, passed away at home on Jan. 6, 2021 surrounded by his family.

    He was born Oct. 4, 1939, in Perry to Leo and Lucille Parker.

    Ronnie was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

    He was a pillar of strength, determination, and will; always placing those he loved ahead of himself.

    Ronnie served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Taylor County High School in 1957.

    He retired from Buckeye more than 30 years of service. He was an avid Florida State Seminole fan and Booster who loved, supported and attended FSU football and baseball games.

    His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love and joy of his life.

    Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Lucile Parker, and his father, Leo Parker.

    He is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Peggy Scott Parker; son, Ronnie Jr. and his wife, Kay; daughter, Lorrie Arterburn and her husband, Dan; brother, Raymond Leo Parker and his wife, Shirley; sister, Brenda McDonald and her husband, Dwight; and grandchildren, Ashley Gipson and her husband, Justin, Billy Joe Wigglesworth and his wife, Jenni, Logan Parker and Grant Parker; as well as great-grandchildren, Kentley Mauk, Jayden Gipson, Maggie and Beckett Wigglesworth; and a host of nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services were held on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2 2 p.m. at Pisgah Cemetery.
