Mr. Elwood Thomas Strevel, 86, of Perry passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 9, 2021.
He was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Lexington, Ky., to Smith Strevel and Delsie Case Strevel.
He was a cabinet maker by trade, and was the founder and operator of Strevel Cabinets for 50 years. During those 50 years he left a legacy of beautifully crafted cabinets in many homes throughout North and Central Florida.
He was of the Christian faith and attended the First Assembly of God in Perry.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, especially on the Suwannee River, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
Elwood was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Smith Strevel Jr. and Ray Strevel; and a sister, Lenoris Stratton.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 67 years, Peggy Eileen Reed Strevel; two sons, Tony Strevel and wife, Cecelia, and Gregg Strevel of Perry; his daughter, Debbie Herndon and husband, Jeff, of Clearwater; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
