To date, 62 individuals and 41 small businesses have received direct assistance through the Taylor County CARES program, but the county still has as much as $2.4 million remaining from its federal allocation to combat the economic impacts caused by the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
With so much money remaining — and the possibility of additional money heading to Florida through the second federal stimulus bill approved by Congress in December — the commission is set to discuss how it would like to direct the local Taylor County CARES Committee in developing its plans moving forward.
