‘A Night in Hollywood’ prom set for Feb. 12

    Posted on February 3, 2021

Local organizers are calling on all members of the local community to turn out and support local special needs teens and adults as they attend their own private prom next week.

“A Night in Hollywood” prom — specifically for local individuals with special needs — will be held at the Perry Elks Lodge on Feb. 12.

Beginning at 4:15 p.m., community members are invited to line the “red carpet” in front the Perry Elks Lodge with posters and cameras to greet some 25 special needs guests as they kick off a night of glitz and glamour.

The “Night to Shine” event, which is usually hosted by the Tim Teebow Foundation in Tallahassee, was organized by local parents to ensure the COVID-19 pandemic did not stop their scaled-down celebration.

“Our theme is ‘A Night in Hollywood,’ and our kids will get to walk the red carpet, enjoy dinner, dancing and a photo booth. We will also crown each person,” co-organizer Beth Flowers said.

The crowns will be provided by the Tim Teebow Foundation.

“Lining the red carpet, or the Elks Lodge driveway, is the greatest way the community can support our special needs kids. Bring a sign, a camera and clap and cheer them on. It will really make their night,” Flowers said.

The Perry Elks Lodge is located at 305 Puckett Road in Perry.
