Taylor’s unemployment rate has doubled

Taylor County’s unemployment rate has doubled in the past year, according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).

As of December 2020, Taylor County had an unemployment rate of 6% — up from the 3% rate reported one year prior in December 2019. The 6% unemployment rate represents approximately 500 Taylor County residents who were not working as of December 2020.
