My Valentine has paws

Local residents are invited to show residents at the Taylor County Animal Shelter some “Valentine’s love” by coming to visit, and bringing them a treat or toy.

 To schedule some quality “sweetheart” therapy time with a shelter animal, please contact the shelter at (850) 838-3525. Additional ways to support the shelter include donating funds to Hearts for Hometown Dogs, the non-profit organization that works to place and transport shelter animals to rescue groups throughout the state. The organization also covers the costs of vaccinations and treatments for animals that are sent to rescues.

Donations can be made via PayPal or by mail: P.O. Box 653, Perry, FL 32348. Owens Animal Hospital is also offering “kisses” for 25¢ each as a fund-raiser to support the shelter.
