    Posted on February 26, 2021

Taylor County logged just 22 positive coronavirus cases over the most recent seven-day time span, down from 61 new cases the first week of February.

The 22 new cases brought the county to a total of 2,618, with 89 hospitalizations and 41 deaths.

While the infection rate for the most recent week was not available as of press time, the county had recorded an infection rate under the target goal of 10 percent over the previous three weeks.

Meanwhile, the local department of health has continued to host mass vaccination clinics each Friday for the 65 or older population, as well as eligible healthcare workers. Call (850) 584-5087 to schedule an appointment.

As of Thursday, Feb. 25, 2,865 Taylor Countians have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, with 1,397 having received both doses of the two-part series.
