All school employees and childcare workers in Florida, regardless of age, can now receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday.
The announcement came one day after DeSantis expanded vaccinations to K-12 teachers aged 50 and older.
By making vaccines available to all school employees and childcare workers regardless of age, Florida is complying with a newly-issued federal mandate that prioritizes the vaccination of those in the education system, including all teachers, school staff, daycare workers and preschool workers.
COVID-19 vaccines for school employees are available through the local health department.
Those who would like to make an appointment to receive the vaccine, may do so by calling DOH-Taylor at (850) 584-5087.
