Man arrested after wreck, assaulting first responder

A late-night car crash at a local convenience store led to a Perry man being charged with battery and resisting arrest following a physical altercation with first responders.

An emergency medial technical (EMT) with Century Ambulance Service was punched in the chest as he sought to assist the driver involved in a car crash that happened late Friday night, March 19, near the intersection of Thomas Demps Lane and Highway 19 North.
