The Perry City Council has formally notified the Taylor County Commission that it intends to pull out of its long-standing arrangement to help finance public recreation — namely youth baseball — sparking a heated response from several commissioners this week.
However, according to City Manager Taylor Brown, a final decision has not been made by the council, adding that the interlocal agreement between the city and county requires a 180-day notice before either side can pull out.
