Deputies found a variety of drugs in the home of a man who was suffering from an apparent substance-induced psychotic episode Thursday, during which he injured several sheriff’s deputies.

Three Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies sustained minor injuries after struggling with a man experiencing what was believed to be a substance-induced psychotic episode at his home Thursday morning, threatening suicide and wielding a machete.

Kevin Arnold, 27, was transported to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) and, after being medically cleared, was booked at the Taylor County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, three counts of resisting arrest with violence, criminal mischief, possession of methamphetamine, possession of synthetic cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
