Wanda Cash Presidential Scholarship deadline is May 12

The Taylor County Historical Society is accepting applications for the second annual Wanda Cash Presidential Scholarship, named in honor of its longest-serving president, the late Wanda Cash.

The $1,000 scholarship is being sponsored by the historical society and the Cash family.

Applications for the “Wanda Cash Presidential Scholarship” are available online at the society’s Facebook page and at the offices of Perry Newspapers, as well guidance offices at the high school and Point of Grace.

The scholarship is open to all graduating Taylor County seniors. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 12.

Cash served as president of the historical society from 2000 to 2014 and was instrumental in the publication of the popular “Cash Writings of Taylor County” by W.T. Cash.

She also oversaw the publication of several editions of the society’s “They Were Here” series.
