970 students ‘chronically absent’

Two weeks ago, the Taylor County School Board learned that the district was gearing up to hold the largest summer school program it has offered in recent years.

Last Tuesday, members learned “the rest of the story.”

“This is the data to back up the need,” School District Director of Instruction Sharon Hathcock said.
