Sheriff seeks 10% employee raises

Taylor County Sheriff Wayne Padgett is asking the Taylor County Commission to find a way to give all of his employees a 10% raise in the next year’s budget, even if it means raising local property tax rates to secure the necessary funds.

Padgett made his request at the commission’s April 27 workshop, passing out a letter in which he requested the commission consider a minimum of a 10% raise.
