Machete attack

A Perry man armed with a machete who charged police officers during a standoff Friday afternoon, April 30, at Woodridge Apartments was tackled and taken into custody with no major injuries to the suspect or officers involved.

Tommy Lowe Morgan, 45, was displaying “erratic behavior” during the encounter, which started around 12:22 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the scene in response to reports of a man shouting threats to everyone passing by his apartment.
