Each week in my preview column, I list the various films making their debuts on Netflix, most of which are from foreign countries. To date, I don’t think I’ve actually reviewed any of them, so I figured it was time to change that.
“The Strange House,” as it is known on Netflix, or “The Scary House,” as it is known across most of the rest of the internet, or “Das Schaurige Haus” in the original German, is a horror film intended (for the most part) for teens or families and is based on a children’s book.
Admittedly, there’s nothing especially special about the story or the characters or even the film itself, but it is a fun little adventure that provides an interesting ghost story/mystery for those looking for something outside the box.
