Building permits up 30%

Taylor County saw a 30% increase in the number of building permits issued in 2020 compared to the previous five-year average, and is on pace to break that mark by another 20% in 2021, based on data collected in the first quarter of the new year.

There were 679 permits pulled in Taylor County last year, according to construction permit numbers obtained from the Taylor County Building and Planning Department.
