$2 million in CARES funds unspent

Taylor County has distributed a total of $558,000 to local individuals and small businesses through the second phase of the local CARES Act assistance programs.

The application period concluded at the end of April, and although a number of applications are still being processed, the county has awarded $432,000 to small businesses and $126,000 to individuals through the COVID-19 federal assistance programs.
