Clerk cautions residents on possible scam

Clerk of Courts Annie Mae Murphy warns residents to be on the alert about a solicitation they may receive through the mail that, while not illegal, “is definitely misleading.”

She advises residents to be wary of official-looking notices they may receive informing them that they need to purchase a copy of the “grant deed” for their property.
